When it comes to Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is hard to choose where to start when writing about it. Should we say that Bosnia is not yet very well known within tourists? Or that Bosnian people experienced war in their country pretty much recently? Or finally, that Bosnia is one of the least developed countries in Europe?

I think all these things are interesting and connected to each other. Anyway, Bosnia and Hercegovina is a country of beautiful mountains, amazing culture full of differences, and super tasty Balkan dishes. When it comes to backpacking in Bosnia and Hercegovina, many people are asking if it is actually safe. The answer here is: hell yeah! Traveling in Bosnia is safe as in most European countries.

For us, Sarajevo is one of the nicest capitals in Europe (at least from those that we have visited). It has an amazingly atmospheric city center divided into 2 parts: the European one and the Turkish one.

If you have a chance to visit Bosnia and Hercegovina, we definitely recommend it.
